Nearside Safety Zone

Nearside installation of AirBars creates a safety zone for vehicles driving mainly in city or urban areas where the nearside blind spot when turning is a significant risk and danger factor for VRUs, especially cyclists.

One AirBar is fitted towards the nearside front of the vehicle or trailer, and another towards the nearside rear, and automatically deploy at vehicle speeds under 15mph when the nearside indicator is operated.

Typical used with:  All HGVs working in cities or urban areas, delivery vehicles, buses and coaches

Offside Safety Zone

Offside installation of AirBars create a safety zone for drivers and operators when working alongside a vehicle that is parked roadside facing live lane oncoming traffic, typically when loading or unloading.

One AirBar is fitted towards the offside front of the vehicle or trailer, and another towards the offside rear, are deployed by the driver using an AirBar control, and remain deployed until the driver deactivates them.

Typical used with:  HGV loading and unloading, rescue & recovery, roadside repair, emergency vehicles, refuse collection and home delivery vehicles.

Full AirBar System

By installing AirBars to a vehicle both nearside and offside, the driver has the option of manually deploying either the nearside, offside or both, giving him the benefit and advantage of all the safety zones created by the AirBars.

Typical used with:  Compound or yard loading & unloading, building sites and live lane applications.

Cyclist Safety Zone

SAFE–TURN® WITH AIRBAR

AirBar is the ONLY safety device that VISUALLY WARNS THE CYCLIST of the nearside blind-spot danger zone when LGVs and HGVs are turning at junctions. Safe-turn by AirBar creates a highly effective visible alert encouraging cyclists to wait behind the vehicle as it turns, thereby removing the risk.

Waiting behind the vehicle improves the visibility of the cyclist in the vehicle’s side mirrors, helping driver awareness of the cyclists’ presence.

Roadside Safety Zone

ROADSIDE SAFE® WITH AIRBAR

Oncoming traffic moves further out into the road to avoid the deployed AirBar compared to a vehicle without an AirBar. This extra space alongside the parked vehicle creates a significantly safety zone for the driver or operative.

Compound Safety Zone

COMPOUND SAFE® WITH AIRBAR

Building sites and compounds are highly dangerous working areas with multiple vehicles moving in the same space. Deploying the AirBars signals to surrounding operatives that this vehicle is working, creating a significant safety zone.
